Fellow citizens of the free world, we at the African Solar Electric Light Foundation are
implementing Solar Home Systems, Solar Charging Stations, and Solar Deep Well Pump System
to extract clean drinking water from the ground. The UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, reports
that 32,602 Cameroonian refugees were registered in Nigeria as of March 2019. Of this
number, 53 percent are women and 51 percent are children. These refugees are spread all over
Nigeria and Ghana; in Nigeria, the refugees have settled in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Benue
State, Taraba State, Ugoja, and Agborkim Waterfalls. These areas have approximately, 1059
shelters. As of December 2019, Ghana was host to some 13,500 refugees and asylum-seekers.
